Education system

Education is of great intrinsic importance with assessing inequalities of opportunities .It is also an important determinant of persons health, state of well being, capacity to interact and communicate with others and sometimes income too.
Education is the basic thing that every one must have in order to build an admirable, serving and developing society.
All round development of personality is the purpose of education.

But the present day education is neither imparting true knowledge of life, world and helping one stand on one’s own leg nor improving the talent of a student by which one can achieve laurels in the field one is interested.

In reality only 20% of the population is educated in India. Also, only 25% of the Universities are having world class education. So, improved standard of education as first priority should be offered to the majority by the govt. authorities with sincere political will. Also, privatization of higher education is absolutely necessary in a vast country like India as government alone is helpless to do so.
But much more privatization also leads to problems as education itself has become so profitable a business that quality is lost in the increase of quantity of professional institutions with quota system and politicization adding fuel to the fire of spoil system, thereby increasing unemployment of graduates without quick relief to mitigate their sufferings in the job market of the country.

Our govt is only focusing on the quantity of the educational institutions and they are very least concerned about they quality, the proposals to open up new IIT’s, IIM’s, NIT’s without having proper arrangements of the fund and most importantly the faculty for such higher level education institutes and attempt to make reservations for the faculty in such institutes whose quality education is admired by the world clearly indicate what the govt. is aspiring.

India should endeavor for the international standard in education. To achieve that goal it should adopt uniform international syllabus in its educational institutions.

But are there any efforts that the govt is making to heave the standard of education in our country???
Is opening up of new IIT’s, NIT’s and IIM’s a solution or is it better to improve the quality of the existing ones??

Besides this opening of these institutes without having prior arrangements, won’t it affect the quality and the fame of the existing institutes..??

Although as of 2009, India has 20 central universities, 215 state universities, 100 deemed universities, 5 institutions established and functioning under the State Act, and 13 institutes which are of national importance. Other institutions include 16000 colleges, including 1800 exclusive women's colleges, functioning under these universities and institutions.

Lakhs of students are attaining education from these institutes but do they get what they actually desire..??

I can guarantee this, hardly 20% of the intermediate passed students can tell u all the “fundamental rights”.

Is this what we call education??

From standard 6-9 we are taught about our history “the Lodi dynasty” , “the Mauryas” , “tughlaqs”, ”khiljis”, ”saiyyads”…..but do we remember any of this now…??
And if we don’t then either something should be done to arouse the interest of the students in the subject so that they remember at least a bit of what they had studied for three important years of their life or the subject should be made optional.
I suppose one of the methods to arouse the interest is to organize educational tours to all the places in India or in world if possible with the cooperation of govt so that one understands about people, culture, arts, literature, religions, technological developments and progress of human society in the world.
This would also help the students doing their assignments and projects on their own with least help required from the elders which otherwise are done by our family members and we gain nothing.
According to the academic record we might have completed our assignment which means we know everything related to that particular topic but in actual we know nothing.

Flabbergasted…!!
Well…it’s a fact….

Most of the students of class 10th do not even know how to find the square root of a number, or why volume of a cuboid is l*b*h….they just mug up the formulas.
I suppose this is not the correct method of imparting knowledge.

Following the similar pattern…
till class 10 we are made to mug things up either we understand or not and after we all are used to doing this and intelligent enough to choose science stream we are being told by our teachers to change our learning pattern, we are asked to understand everything without mugging up, which waste a lot of our time and sometimes students even feel so frustrated that they prefer to change their stream rather than changing themselves.

Discussing about class 10 reminds me of something, recently CBSE has included grading system in class 10’s board examination and soon they are going to make the boards optional ,they are doing this to pass maximum number of students appearing in the examination, but aren’t they cheating with the quality and more importantly the student themselves ,a student who is not able to pass class 10 board on his own which is so easy , would he be able to pass other examinations in the future which would be 100 times tougher and harder than this one..??

Infact if these sort of guys continue to get pass in examinations , then consider the case if they become a teacher ,leave behind IIT’s ,NIT’s and IIM’s, but even at primary level as they themselves knows nothing wont they obliterate the future of others…??

Now talking about the practical’s…they are meant for better understanding of the subject and the topic ,I would like to ask this question from u guys do u really think that we perform practical’s in the labs….??
In 10% of the cases the answer might be yes but I am sure the rest 90% would answer in no...
What the problem I feel in most of the circumstances is the malfunctioning of the instruments or machines in the labs or lack of interest of the teacher present in the lab.

In some cases lack of knowledge or incapability of the staff to answer or explain results in negative effect on students psychology, they stop arguing or asking questions because what they feel is “Ise aata to hai nahi puchne ka kya fayda”, and the doubt remain unanswered which leads to further accumulation of doubts as this basic question was not answered and he faces problems in his future.

If a student asks any question which is not related to his academic subjects he is asked to focus at his scholastic stuff and not to let his mind gets diverted.
We are made to concentrate on marks, grades and pointers only a few people talk about gaining knowledge rather than caring for this stupid stuff.

So where the problem exactly is…??
Who is responsible for all this our parents, teachers, we ourselves..or the education system??

After we pass our class 12th we write some examinations which plays an important role in deciding our future .Our ability ,knowledge everything is judged on the basis of those exams which are only of some 2-3 hrs.
Can the assessment of an individual’s knowledge, skills and ability be done in 2-3 hrs??

Moreover the system is majorly focused on the institutes allied with science, technology and commerce….what about the other fields??

Why do we have to remain present all the time in the class room…..why is attendance
so important ……….why cant we focus on the subject of our interest….why do we have to go from 1st to 12th in a sequential manner if we being in 3rd class are able to solve the problems of class 9th…??
Why??
……..Why??
……………..Why??

All these questions need to be answered….

We entrusted our govt to build a strong education system, may be they are trying their best but it’s a fact that our education system is stumbling and their effort is not adequate ,their is much more to be done.


The government currently spends only 3% of its GDP on education which is inadequate and insufficient. To improve the quality of education, the government needs to spend more money from its coffers.
The actual quantity of schooling that children experience and the quality of teaching they receive are extremely insufficient in the intitutes .Government institutions are unable to attract good quality teachers due to inadequate teaching facilities and low salaries.

For so long the students have endured this burden on their responsible shoulders now it’s time to do something to help the future of our country.

Panacea to the problems related to education which is a source of human capital needs immediate attention.

Hope government takes certain appropriate policy measures leaving their tantalizing and tardy behavior apart to improve the system otherwise inequalities are going to be widespread and India’s basic capabilities will remain stunted. Let us strengthen the case for a stronger education system.
